PacketWave® 600 Series
Wireless Bridges
2.5 GHz, 3.5 GHz, 5.8 GHz

Aperto® Network’s PacketWave® wireless bridges offer a high-speed, cost-effective IP Ethernet bridge connection between locations with unprecedented nterference resilience and minimal spectrum usage.

The product supports a wide range of applications including high-speed backhaul of Wi-Fi™ hot spot and Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS)networks,a higher capacity alternative to T1/E1 connections or enterprise environments from one building to another.

PacketWave wireless bridges support 20 non-overlapping 6 MHz channels in the 5.8 GHz ISM band – more than five times the number of channels than all other available solutions.

Features

20 Mbps data rate per 6 MHz channel,12 Mbps net throughput

Range up to 49 miles (79 km)in 2.5 GHz,40 miles (64 km)in 3.5 GHz and 35 miles (56 km)in 5.8 GHz

Automatic Frequency Selection (AFS) switches to preselected channels dynamically when error rates are high

SNMP and Web-based management

Synchronization between units to support hub-site co-location of links and use of contiguous channels

Connectorized output for optional high gain antennas

High Interference Resilience
The PacketWave wireless bridges offer high interference immunity using Aperto ’s OptimaLink ® technology.OptimaLink dynamically changes several PHY and MAC parameters on a burst-by-burst basis. This provides a spectrally efficient link, yet robust enough to handle a wide variety of interference conditions.

The adaptive parameters include:
Modulation
ARQ (Automatic Re-transmissions)
Payload size
FEC (Forward Error Correction)

The PacketWave wireless bridges are the first to offer a synchronization option providing you the ability co- locate up to 32 wireless bridge units at the same location.Multiple units can be configured on adjacent channels with no frequency separation requirements.

External antenna connectors provide the flexibility to use various antenna options to address range requirements.
